The Art of Quilting

I am a little obsessed with quilts. It began the summer before my freshman year of college. In exchange for leaving my cozy sanctuary with family at home, I had finally been given complete say over the aesthetic design in my dorm room (well, at least my half of it). While other college grads shopped the shelves of their local chain retailers, I drove to Fredericksburg and purchased my very first quilt. I had never fallen in love with a material item like this before. It was navy blue with multi-colored, oddly shaped, plaid stars sprinkled throughout the center. It was soft and comforting, reminding me of home. I still have that quilt, and sleep with it every night. Since then, I have inherited my great-grandmothers hand-made quilt and hastily purchased a gender-neutral one the same week that I found out I was pregnant. Unbeknownst to me, I would be having two babies! So, while I wait for the boys to grow beyond their cribs, I am in constant search of two semi-matching quilts that will one day adorn their big boy beds. Here are some beautiful designs I found online. Enjoy!
