"Theatrical disasters are the source of many a comedy." Sneezing corpses, a drunk techie and the ultimate wardrobe malfunction... Brittany Duncan directs this cast of crazy people. This tiny gem will be over before you know it, or whenever the techie turns out the lights. For reservations, call 522-5225. This is a Maverick Players membership production and 2010 season memberships will be accepted for admission. Individual admission tickets are $8 on Thursdays and Sundays and $12 on Fridays and Saturdays. An opening night reception is planned as usual.

Friday, the Midland RockHounds will take on the Tulsa Drillers. The first 1,000 fans will receive a RockHounds gym bag. In celebration of Friday the 13th, come to Citibank Ballpark to celebrate Halloween a little early this year. Enjoy Halloween activities and music, and be sure to dress in costume, as the RockHounds will host their first ever Halloween costume contest. The winner will receive four tickets to a future RockHounds game along with a free meal at the concession stand of their choice for any RockHounds game through the end of the season.

Dinner with "The Blind Side" Family

"An Evening with Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy" is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Midland County Horseshoe. The event will include dinner and a chance to listen to and interact with the Tuohys. Tickets range from $300 for two people to $10,000 for a table for 10 with visible sponsorship on promotional ads, a copy of the movie and the book, photo opportunities at the pre-party and more. All proceeds from the event go to support programs at Centers, a non-profit organization that provides counseling and support services to children and families throughout the Permian Basin.

5K Benefit Run

A 5K run/walk will take place Aug. 14 to benefit Midland Police Department Sgt. Brian Rackow. Rackow was injured June 24 when an explosive device he was dismantling at the MPD training facility exploded. He lost his left hand in the incident and also suffered afflictions to his face and injuries to his chest, legs and arms. Money raised through the run, which is being held at 8 a.m. at Beal Park, will be donated to the Sgt. Brian Rackow Fund. Registration is free and donations are optional.
